Horsham Preservation and Historical Association

The Horsham Preservation & Historical Association (HPHA) is is a 501(c)3 community benefit organization based in Horsham Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, USA dedicated to identifying, studying, preserving and protecting the historical heritage, buildings and artifacts of the area.

CD Kaller Inc has been a long time supporter of HPHA and has worked with HPHA in the restoration of the historic Penrose-Strawbridge House at Graeme Park and the Novotny House in Horsham.

The Penrose Strawbridge House is a c1721 farmhouse in Horsham, PA on the grounds of Colonial Governor Sir William Keith's estate which he called Fountain Low but is now known as Graeme Park. The central section of the house is a circa 1721 cabin built at about the same time as Governor Keith's more famous colonial mansion Keith House. Major additions were made to the home by the Penrose family beginning in 1810. The home fell into disrepair in the late 1900's and the Horsham Preservation and Historical Association began restoring it in the early 2000s.

CD Kaller has been a valuable participant in the restoration effort of the Penrose Strawbridge House, doing work on many parts of the home including roofing, windows, doors, stucco, masonry and more. Read more about the home and the work we've done to help save this beautiful, historic property.

HPHA and CD Kaller have also worked together on saving the Novotny House, a c1750s farmhouse located on what was known as the Blunston tract in Horsham - granted by William Penn to Mary Blunston. The home was donated to HPHA by David Cutler Group, it was then purchased and restored beautifully by CD Kaller Inc.

CD Kaller did a complete restoration of the home including a new Cedar Shake Roof, new copper gutters and flashing, new historically accurate Marvin Windows, repairs to the Masonry and Stucco, and a complete interior restoration. Mr Kaller has since sold this beautiful, colonial era gem and it is now a private residence.

"...Curt - and CD Kaller Inc - have a great appreciation of older and historically significant buildings. This shows through in the work that they do. They repair what needs to be repaired and replace what needs to be replaced, without disturbing the character of what has been there for 200+ years. We have another pent roof here at the property that needs replacing and other buildings on the property that will need cedar shake roofs as soon as we can raise the funds. Due to our ten years of dependable restoration and maintenance experience with Curt Kaller, I'm sure we'll be working with him again. "
- Pete Choate, Executive Director HPHA

We love older homes and historical buildings and had the pleasure to work on many. Please consider CD Kaller if you have an older home that needs some TLC.
